Hello beading world! I have missed you more than I thought I would. It's been a little over two years since my last blog post. No need to send out a search party. I didn't go anywhere. Where have I been, you ask? Well, there are lots of answers to that:
As you may or may not know, I live in Wichita Falls, TX. I moved here for college and never got out, much like many of the people who come here. It's a medium sized town with a small town mindset and the only place around for miles and miles (just a reminder that Texas is huge). I wouldn't say I'm stuck here, I just made a life here with my boyfriend and have a solid set of friends. I do miss my family though.
I deleted my Facebook sometime last year and never regretted it. I do miss the awesome beaders in Operation Tackle That Bead Stash. Hello to those of you who might read this! I still only buy beads for current projects and have used up quite a bit (I think). I also stopped updating my Etsy because I don't think that's quite the right direction for my work.
Mostly I've been in a creative slump. For two years. It was awful. It didn't help that the job I had for most of that time cluttered my brain with drama and unwanted toxic noise. Just one of those environments where you havt to be, you're ignored but relied on at the same time. No more for me. I waited it out until I found out that my local Starbucks was finally hiring!!! Now I'm a barista again and have the job I've always wanted. The benefits are nice too. :-)
I also have a beading studio of my own! More on that in another post. It has helped significantly to have my own space.
This message is just a re-hello and a new hello to everyone out there. I'll be writing about whatever crosses my mind: beading, cosplay, video games, books, puzzles, random quotes and music interests, the works. Why limit myself to one subject? I'm more interesting than that. Good bye for now! Here's a mug shot:
Okay, so my phone is being a dork and won't upload anything for me (knew I should have used the laptop), so no picture today. I do look a little older though and just as nerdy! Have fun.
Where is Part 1? Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteHello KJ! I think I once uploaded a clip of the Monty Python skit in a similar post. :-)
Delete*waves* nice to hear from you. I still love the purple key necklace I have from you. I wore it the other day in fact :)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear, Sarah! I believe you have a small collection of things I've made, correct?
